All-time record price for New Vithanakande OP1

DFT-10-50At the Colombo Tea Auction held on 1 and 2 August, an invoice of OP1 grade offered for sale by New Vithanakande Tea Factory, Dellwala in the Sabaragamuwa District sold at an all-time record price of Rs. 1,170 per kilogram and was purchased by Vintage Teas Ceylon Ltd.

New Vithanakande, whose teas have sold at record prices at the Colombo Tea Auctions, has won many national and international awards over the years.

New Vithanakande Tea Factory is owned and managed by N.B.H. Pilapitiya. This line of tea was successfully marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities Plc.
