Galpaditenne Tea Factory situated in Lellopitiya, Ratnapura, established an all time record price for a low grown CTC BP1 grade at Rs. 540 per kg at the weekly tea auction held on 10 September. This line of tea was purchased by M/s Union Commodities.
Suduwelipothahena CTC teas are keenly sought after by a range of reputed tea exporters for its consistent leaf appearance and liquoring characteristics.
The proprietor of Galpaditenne Tea Factory is Saman Upasena and the sale was conducted by Tea Broker John Keells PLC.
