A Munich start-up Agrilution has developed an automated greenhouse appliance known as ‘plantCube’ with the intention of bringing the production of healthier food closer to people. The machine, which is the size of a common built-in fridge, uses special LED lamps to generate different climate situations within the unit to enable the cultivation of a variety of vegetables. plantCube’s developers say the appliance should fit in every kitchen or be used in restaurants and supermarkets.
