Better prices at tea auction

Queensbury breaks own record Queensbury estate set an all-time record price of Rs. 760 per kilogram for a FBOPF1 grade in the high grown category at this week’s tea auctions. This surpassed the previous record of Rs. 740 per kilogram established by them. Queensbury is owned and managed by Kahawatte Plantations PLC who consistently maintains the highest standards of product quality in factories managed by them. This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas Ltd. and the sale was conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. who is the sole broker for Queensbury mark.       Craighead equals record all-time record price Craighead estate which is the best Orthodox Mark in the medium grown elevation category equalled the all-time record price of Rs. 760 per kilogram for a BOPS grade at this week’s tea auctions. Craighead is owned and managed by Kahawatte Plantations PLC who consistently maintains highest standards of product quality in factories managed by them. This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas Ltd. and the sale was conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. who is the sole broker for Craighead mark.       Spring Valley equals all-time record price Spring Valley situated in close proximity to Badulla town the capital of UVA Province is one of the largest plantations in the UVA planting district. At this week’s tea auctions a line of FBOPF1 grade from Spring Valley equalled the all-time record price of Rs. 760 per kilogram. This line of tea was purchased by Union Commodities. Spring Valley Estate is owned and managed by Balangoda Plantations PLC which comes under the purview of Stassen Group. Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. conducted the sale of this line of tea.
