Craighead and Rilagala Factories which are reputed for producing some of the best orthodox teas from the medium grown elevation, continues to fetch premium prices and improve on the all time records established by them previously.
At this week’s auction Craighead established an all time record price of Rs. 1000 per kilogram of BOP1 which surpassed the record price of Rs. 890 established by them on 24 September 2013 for the same grade.
This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas Ltd., whilst Rilagala established an all time record price of Rs. 920 per kilogram of FBOP surpassing the previous record price of Rs. 780.
This line of tea was purchased by Black Tea Exports Ltd. Craighead and Rilagala are owned and managed by Kahawatte Plantations PLC.
The sale was conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd., who are proud to have been associated in marketing of Craighead & Rilagala teas as their sole broker in achieving all time record prices continuously.
