The Halpewatte Uva Estate, situated in Bandarawela, established an all-time record price of Rs. 750 per kg on a liquoring BOPsp grade at this week’s tea auction held on Tuesday, breaking its own record of Rs. 740, which was achieved two weeks ago.
Halpewatte Uva Estate is owned and managed by A.P.D. Abeyrathne together with his wife and three sons who take pride in consistently producing some of the finest teas being manufactured in the Uva region for over two decades, which have reached the pinnacle of the global tea market.
This invoice of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas and the sale was conducted by John Keells Plc.
