Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory, Pellmadualla achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 930 per kilogramme for a PEK grade in the Low Grown category, at the weekly tea auctions held on 4 April. Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Asiri Group, Rilhena, Pelmadulla which is owned by Y.C. Weerasena and managed by his son Jayanga Weerasena.
