Maskeliya estates achieve all-time record prices for tea

Brunswick Estate in Maskeliya has been frequently establishing all time record prices for tea. This is attributed to the high standard of manufacture maintained focused on consistently producing good quality tea which has resulted in these achievements. At the recently-concluded Tea Auctions of 9 October Brunswick Estate had a proud distinction of establishing another all-time record price in the Western High Grown category when an Invoice of Brunswick Estate BOPF obtained a price of Rs. 700 per kg., surpassing the previous record price of Rs. 690 per kg., established at the sale of 11 September by Brunswick Estate. Craig Estate Bandarawela situated in the Eastern Slopes of the Uva District had the proud distinction of establishing an all-time record price of Rs. 630 per kg., for a FBOPF1 Grade in the Uva High Grown category at the auction of 8 October. Craig Estate has been consistently producing a high standard of leafy orthodox teas which has resulted in Craig Estate regularly obtaining top prices at the weekly Colombo Tea Auctions. The above established record price teas were purchased by Akbar Brothers Ltd. Eastern Brokers Ltd. is the brokers associated with the sale of these teas. These estates come under the management of RPC Management Services Ltd., of Richard Pieris Group of Companies.
