More records tumble this week at tea auctions

In the Western High Grown Category an Invoice of Inverness OP, achieved a record price of Rs. 760/- per kg. Inverness is a selling mark of NuwaraEliya Estate, of Kelani Valley Plantations PLC. This was purchased by Watawala Tea Ceylon Ltd. 

In the Uva High Grown category Oodoowerre Estate OP, achieved an All Time High of Rs. 650/-per kg for this elevation. Oodoowerre Estate is owned by Hapugastenne Plantations PLC, a member of the Finlays Group. This tea was purchased by Tea-Link Colombo Ltd.

AnInvoice of Low Grown BOPFSPgrade offered under the Hidellana Estatesold at a price of Rs. 780/- per kg, equaling the existing record for this type of tea. This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas Ltd.

This invoice was produced at Hidellana Tea factory known for good quality Sabaragamuwa teas and is owned by Lalith Liyanage. 

Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC was associated with the sale of these record breaking teas.
