Minister of Plantation Industries Navin Dissanayake has appointed the Chairman and the Board of Directors of the Kalubovitiyana Tea Factory which is under the purview of the Ministry of Plantations.
Accordingly, P.S. Samarakoone has been appointed as the Chairman of the Factory, while A.U.C. Athukorala has been appointed as the Executive Director. Other Board members who were appointed are M.A.S.P. Prasanna Palihawadana, P. Rassaih, Hemal Kasthuriarachchi and Sampath Manthrinayake.

The appointment letters were handed over to the newly appointed Board members yesterday (1) by Minister Navin Dissanayake at the Ministry of Plantations, Battaramulla.
Addressing the Board members Minister Dissanayake requested the new board to maintain this factory as a commercial institute without political interferences and to upgrade it as one of the best tea factories in Nuwara Eliya District such as Darangala, Hiniduma and Manikdiwela, with modern equipment without destructing the capital.
Minister Dissanayake further said that if necessary he look forward to obtain monetary assistance from the relevant authorities to improve the factory and he would do the maximum to uplift this factory as the Minister of Plantation Industries.
