The IPC conducts regular sessions and meetings every year hosted by Member countries on rotation basis. Each member country is represented by a delegate with Plenipotentiary Authority to attend the session.
This year the 44thsession of the IPC is hosted by the Government of Indonesia, and organised jointly by the Ministry of Trade of the Government of Indonesia, and the International Pepper Community of Indonesia.
The Sri Lankan delegation comprises: NCE President Sarada De Silva, EOAS International, and EOAS Organics Ltd Chairman D. A. Perera, L. B. Spices Trading Ltd Chairman K. L. Karunaratne , Citro Essential Oils Ltd CEO Ananda Kularatne, G. P. De Silva & Sons International Ltd Chairman Lal De Silva and Cinnatopia Ltd Director Sashika De Silva.
The program of the IPC will consist of the following activities:
A business session to discuss related business issues with presentations made by speakers from both producing and consuming countries.
A Technical Forum to design the blue print for the Operational Agenda of the Pepper Community.
A session to identify and evolve solution for problems faced by the Pepper Industry in the areas of production, processing, marketing, and product Development. It will also examine papers highlighting the new technologies and practices followed by member countries, and will finalise data in regard to Pepper production, consumption, imports, exports, and stock carry over from the last year, estimates for the current year, and projections for the coming year.
The Pepperexim meeting which is a gathering of producers, exporters, importers, traders, and grinders of Pepper, to expedite the exchange of information, and a Forum for dialog between the producing and consuming countries. It will also discuss various facets of Pepper such as the supply and demand situation in each producing and importing country, quality improvements, and quality control, possible use of technology in improving pepper quality, and for information exchange.
A closed meeting of the plenipotentiary representatives of IPC member countries to discuss in detail, and consider the propose work programmes, and activities, recommended by the different Committees of the IPC, and also consider and approve the proposed budget of the IPC to implement its work program.
