The Prima Group Sri Lanka, one of the largest conglomerates and foreign income generators in the food and beverage sector, recently held their 2nd Group Dealer Convention – ‘Prima Premier Awards 2016’ at the Grandeeza Hotel in Negombo with over 850 in attendance including Primus Cheng – Chairman/CEO of the Prima Group, as well as the senior management of the group.

The event attracted over 300 dealers and business partners from around the island and over 500 sales personnel as its main objective was to felicitate, reward and recognise the best performing distributors,  dealers and sales staff from its three main companies; Prima Ceylon Ltd., Ceylon Grain Elevators PLC and Ceylon Agro-Industries Ltd. The event also saw the launch of Prima’s new Digital Sales Kit that would provide a common platform to sales teams of the three Prima Group companies, thereby facilitating synergy and the cross-selling of the Group’s products.

While commending all dealers and staff for their valuable contribution towards the success and growth of the group, Cheng said: “I ask that all of us start to synergise, as we have been recognised as having one of the strongest sales and distribution networks in the country. However, in order to sustain this vision, we must never forget that we have to consistently give our consumers products of the highest quality.”

The highlight of the event was the Group Synergy Awards that were presented to Elmo Joseph – Area Sales Manager - Prima Ceylon Ltd., Sunil Samarasinghe – Area Sales Manager, Ceylon Grain Elevators PLC and Isuru Randeni – Sales Executive, Ceylon Agro Industries Ltd. Among other key awards that were presented at the event, Ceylon Agro Industries Ltd. recognised Ruwinda Enterprises as the ‘Overall Best Performing Distributor’ while the Sarubima Agro Center in Siyambalanduwa won the award for the ‘Best Dealer of the Year 2015’ and Demuni Sajith Sen bagged the award for the ‘Best Performer of the Year 2015’.

In the first round of awards, Ceylon Agro Industries rewarded their best performers in the Bread, VAP and Dry Goods categories accordingly. This was followed by the second round of awards, as Ceylon Grain Elevators PLC rewarded the distributors and sales representatives of the Chicken and Feed sales categories while Prima Ceylon too rewarded their best performing provincial distributers and sales representatives.

Under the Staff Category Awards for the Highest Volume Growth of Prima Ceylon in 2014/2015, Chatura Senaratne from the North Western Province was recognised as the ‘Best Area Sales Manager’ while Mr. Nalaka Sampath Dharmakeerthi from the Southern Province claimed the award for ‘Best Area Sales Supervisor.’
