The 12th consecutive Profood Propack & Agbiz 2013, Sri Lanka’s only comprehensive food processing, beverage, packaging and agricultural exhibition, is set to be held on 24, 25 and 26 August 2013 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Cultural Hall, under its renowned theme ‘From the Farm to the Kitchen’.
The three-day-long event will feature each and every component of every industry’s process, which will include even minute phases.
The Platinum sponsor for the packaging segment PCL Solutions said that the event would be of utmost significance for all Small and Medium Enterprises involved in the entire gamut of processes.
“The exhibition is one of a kind and I believe it is so even on global standards. We believe that the exhibition provides an opportunity to migrate technology, expertise and other factors to developing businesses in the country in order to achieve high efficiency rates and deliver quality products. The exhibition, which has over the years garnered a reputation for catering to each and every aspect of the food processing industry beginning from the very basic tenets of the processing- process, the seeds and other raw material to the end product which is used by the consumer, will comprise as in the past each and every facet that represents each stage of the production process.
The exhibition spanning three days is considered to be the only event at which the entire components of the wide ranging industry are showcased under a single platform.
The Sri Lanka Food Processors Association said that as in the past, the exhibition will be a central meting point of “consumers and producers”.
“This is the most potent meeting point for all consumers and producers to gather under a single platform and witness, network and exchange expertise regarding their chosen field of expertise. It will also provide an opportunity to all stakeholders of the SME sector to exhibit their products to a global audience and improve on their processes and other facets relating to their chosen fields helping them achieve global standards,” said Hamilton Dias, Chairman of the Association.
Profood Propack & Agbiz 2013 is the only ‘one stop shop’ for all requirements and service needs related to all major factors of the industry and therefore will feature almost all the phases that make a distinct part of the final product that is made available to the retail consumer.
The exhibition this year as in the past years has expanded into agriculture, poultry, livestock and floriculture and is a must-attend event to all stakeholders related to all phases of each and every industry.
The organisers of the event have ensured maximum participation from all partners and players of the industry in order to provide the visitor an entire and comprehensive outlook of the inner workings of the processes.
International Exhibitors from Malaysia, Dubai Singapore and Pakistan will be on show during the three days with special pavilions dedicated to India and China and will add special colour to the event.
