Record price for Kenilworth teas

Kenilworth Estate, situated in Ginigathhena, has established an all time record price at the weekly tea auction held on 13 March by securing an attractive price of Rs. 710 for a liquoring BOP grade. This price has surpassed the previous existing record of Rs. 570, which was established in 2008.



In addition to this achievement, Kenilworth Estate also established another all time record price of Rs. 750 at the subsequent week’s tea auction (20 March) for a BOPSP grade, surpassing its own previous record of Rs. 670 established in 2009.  

Both lines of tea were purchased by Finlay Colombo PLC.

Kenilworth is renowned for high quality pure orthodox teas possessing delicate liquoring characteristics. The estate is managed by Watawala Plantations PLC, while John Keells PLC is the tea broker for the produce of this estate.
