The Russian Federation has offered to provide infrastructure facilities to develop Sri Lanka’s agro-industries, including vegetable and fruit cultivation and production of liquid milk.
Russian Federation’s Deputy Agricultural Minister of Ilya Shestkov said this when he met Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa at the Ministry office recently.
Livestock development, dairy farming and distributing best breeds of cows among dairy farmers to obtain maximum benefits from the dairy industry were among the matters discussed at the meeting.
Senior Government officials of the Russian Federation and Sri Lanka Government officials representing the relevant areas also attended.
