Seminar on ‘Impact of Climatic Change on Agriculture’

The Spices and Allied Products Producers’ and Traders’ Association (SAPPTA), in association with Department of Meteorology, Department of Export Agriculture and Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka, will hold a seminar on the theme ‘Impact of Climatic Change on Agriculture’ on Thursday 27 November from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ground Floor Auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, 50, Nawam Mw, Colombo 2.The seminar will be conducted by three prominent industry experts – K.H.M.S. Premalal, the Director (Training, Research and Development) of Department of Meteorology; Dr. H.M.P.A. Subasinghe the Deputy Director – Research of Department of Export Agriculture; and Dr. M.A. Wijeratne, Officer-in-Charge – Low Country Regional Centre – Ratnapura of Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the participants will be given comprehensive understanding on the impact of climatic change relating to Spices and Allied Products Industry, tea industry and other agricultural industries.
