A business delegation comprising 10 leading companies engaged in timber from Malaysia is visiting Sri Lanka from 7 - 8 July. The event has been organised by the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC). These companies mainly represent the sectors of plywood, MDF, particleboard, laminated scantlings, moldings, flooring, decking, door frames and window components.
Main objectives of visiting Sri Lanka is to enhance trade relations and increase timber trade with Sri Lanka, disseminate information on the Malaysian timber industry, timber species and applications, exchange ideas and information on timber utilisation. Another major objective is to enhance networking with key and potential timber buyers and seek for joint venture opportunities.
The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) is organising a seminar series in parallel to the delegation’s visit for information sharing and developing networks to achieve its objectives. The seminar will be held on 8 July, at Hilton, Colombo from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm, and ideal for professionals and industrialists such as architects, builders, contractors, designers, timber importers, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors.
