The Import Section of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in association with the Ministry of Health and Sri Lanka Standards Institute will hold a seminar on the new food regulations and the Sri Lanka Standards on 27 January from 2p.m. to 5p.m. at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Auditorium.
The government recently approved a series of new food regulations under the Food Act of Sri Lanka to protect consumers from adulterated food and food that is injurious to health.
Ministry of Health Director Dr. T.B. Ananda Jayalal, Sri Lanka Standards Institution W.N.N Satharasinghe and Fonterra Brands Lanka Manager Nutrition and Regulatory Affairs Dr. Sanath Mahawithanage will address the gathering.
A panel discussion will be held with the participation of industry experts.
It will be an ideal opportunity for all stakeholders in the food industry such as importers, FMCG companies, distributors, manufacturers, printers, packaging material suppliers and advertising agencies.
