MINSK (BelTA): Sri Lanka intends to borrow Belarus’ experience of making milk and dairy products. The idea was discussed during the visit of a Belarusian delegation to Sri Lanka. The delegation was led by Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
While in Sri Lanka members of the Belarusian delegation met with top officials of the Agriculture Ministry, the Ministry of Social Development, Welfare and Animal Husbandry. Negotiations were held with top executives of major companies involved in the manufacturing of milk and dairy products.
The sides discussed the use of Belarusian experience, technologies, equipment, and personnel training for the implementation of government programs meant to advance Sri Lanka’s dairy industry to a level enough to satisfy the country’s domestic demand. The possibility of arranging career enhancement courses for Sri Lanka veterinarians in Belarus was discussed.
A number of joint projects were chosen for implementation on the Sri Lankan market in association with potential partners.
