Sri Lankan Ambassador in Brasilia promotes tea in Santiago, Chile

Ambassador Raja A. Edirisuriya and Minister of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Brasilia in Brazil Kapila Jayaweera met Juan Carlos Ramn Cambiaso, the General Manager of Cambiaso Hermanos Company in Valperiso in Chile on 17 September.
Cambiaso Company has been importing tea since 1960’s and currently imports 40% of the imports of Sri Lankan tea to Chile worth approximately $ 23 million.
Ambassador Raja Edirisuriya stated that the Sri Lanka Tea Board is in a planning process to promote tea in Chile. This was encouraging news for the Cambiaso Company since they promote ‘Pure Ceylon Tea’ in Chile as well as neighboring countries.
