Craighead in the record books for the 12th consecutive week
Craighead, reputed for producing the best quality Medium Grown Orthodox Tea has won the confidence of the trade for maintaining consistency at the highest levels.
At this week’s Tea Auction, a line of BOP1 established an all-time record price of Rs. 1,360 per kilogram, which surpassed the previous all-time record of Rs. 1250 per kilogram established by them.
This line of tea was purchased by J-Cey Tea Ltd., on behalf of Ahamed Teas of London. Craighead is owned and managed by Kahawatta Plantations PLC.
The sale of this line of tea was conducted by Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. who are the sole broker for Craighead Estate.
Dickwella establishes all-time record
Dickwella Estate is situated in Hali Ella, under the Uva medium elevation and is renowned for the best quality orthodox teas has been rewarded for its consistency.
Dickwella is ranked at the No. 1 position in the Uva Medium Elevation Category.
At this week’s auction, a line of BOP1 achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1250 per kilogram, surpassing its own record price of Rs. 1150 established by them. This line of tea was purchased by Tea Tang Ltd.
Dickwella Estate is owned and managed by Malwatta Valley Plantations PLC.
The sale of this line of tea was conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.
Mooloya achieves all-time record price
Mooloya Estate situated in the Uda Pussellawa Planting District at an elevation 1242 metres at the lowest and rising to 1800 metres at the highest, is renowned for its light liquoring teas.
At this week’s Tea Auction, a line of Mooloya Pekoe 1 Grade achieved an all time record price of Rs. 660 per kilogram, bettering the previous record price of Rs. 640 per kilogram. This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas Ltd. Mooloya in owned and managed by Pussellawa Plantations PLC.
The sale of this line of tea was conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.
