Reuters: Sri Lanka’s tea production fell 9.3% in July from a year earlier, data from the state-run Tea Board showed on Wednesday, and officials attributed the second straight monthly fall to heavy rains and less sunlight.
Output of Sri Lanka’s top agricultural export commodity has risen 3.9% in the first seven months of this year compared with the same period last year.
Tea is one of the main foreign currency earners for the island nation’s US$ 59 billion economy.
