The USAID/CORE project and the National Agribusiness Council signed a MoU to this effect at the CORE project office for a second regional agricultural exhibition of ‘AG BIZ 2011’.The exhibition is scheduled to be held in late April at Ampara.
The aim of the event is to uplift farmers’ agricultural knowledge with the latest technologies and to build up linkages between farmers and other stakeholders of the agribusiness sector.
The great success of the ‘AG BIZ East’ exhibition held in Trincomalee last year laid the foundation for a similar exhibition in Ampara, on the request of the Eastern Provincial Council and the farmers of Ampara District.
Local and international key players in agriculture would be participating in this exhibition, which will be held under the slogan ‘Reawakening East’.
