Brandix has long been celebrated as an inspired solutions provider in Sri Lankan apparel manufacturing, leading the philosophy of ‘total solutions’ in the island’s strategic evolution to position itself as a turnkey fashion hub.

Further contributing to this national vision with a new energy of fashion innovation, Brandix has partnered to present Sri Lanka’s first international fashion week— Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka.

Extending the support of its mammoth fashion manufacturing, finishing and material innovation infrastructure to the fashion week, Brandix has announced its role as the official ‘Fashion Industry Patron’ for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka.

As part of this cardinal role, the apparel giant will be rallying the support and participation of its peers in the industry for the event which aims to create an accurate rendering of Sri Lanka’s award-winning apparel industrial power.

Furthermore, Brandix will be contributing world-class fashion business intelligence to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka, through the event’s inspiring agenda of conferences and forums. This includes the Female Futures Forum which maps out the relevance of women professionals, especially in an industry like fashion, and The South Asian Apparel Leadership Forum where apparel industry titans— including Brandix CEO Ashroff Omar— will share some fantastic thought leadership for the industry.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka will take place through 27, 28 and 29 October with Brandix and other apparel industry leaders, at Mercedes-Benz Centre of Excellence (Dimo 800) in Colombo.

Brandix CEO Ashroff Omar stated that the company’s support for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka stems from its long-term relationship with the event’s history when its first stages were previewed at Sri Lanka Design Festival in the past.

“Brandix has always been a supporter of design and innovation led fashion because it really resonates with our vision to deliver inspired solutions. Looking at how far this work has come today, when it has now evolved into the internationally recognised stage from the idea of creating a mega platform for Sri Lankan fashion first came about in 2009, we’re prouder than ever before to stand behind it and play our part in establishing Sri Lanka’s leadership role in South Asian fashion.”

Brandix is a unique fashion maker with strong competencies in fashion product development and manufacturing with state-of-the-art solutions for the entire apparel value chain. Employing over 50,000 associates across 42 manufacturing locations in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and now Haiti, Brandix maintains a streak of excellence through its group wide philosophy of providing fast and flexible inspired solutions, driving total solutions from design to delivery.

Further, Brandix is also a benchmark and international award winner for eco-friendly manufacture and commitment to environmental best practice. It is also the first apparel manufacturer in the world to receive Platinum status for Green manufacture from the US LEED Green Building rating system. Under its Sustainability pillar, Brandix has set a stringent target to become carbon neutral across its entire apparel manufacturing arm by 2020.

Beyond this, Brandix continues its vision of presenting inspired solutions to find unique ways to resolve prevailing social issues such as access to clean drinking water. The Group’s principal CSR efforts are driven by the central corporate theme of ‘Water’ and constitute a long term commitment to increasing the availability of water and the provision of safe drinking water to those most in need. This is Brandix’s vision to unite the core philosophy for their work— inspired solutions— with a wider social spectrum.  It is this same philosophy that connects them to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka where the power of the fashion and apparel industry in its ability to create employment, extend new opportunities, sustain communities, empower women, etc. is truly harnessed. By supporting Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka, Brandix aims to contribute towards creating an internationally recognised platform for Sri Lanka Apparel which has the ability to draw in new business and create commerce.
