In little less than a year, renowned Sri Lankan model Adam Flamer-Caldera has become one of Ford Model’s most prized and sought after professional models.
This dynamic young man is currently on track to become one of New York’s rising stars in the modelling sphere, all whilst studying to become a doctor at one of the most prestigious medical universities in the world. The year is still not over, and it seems like Adam has already accomplished everything a model in New York can dream of.
Having finished New York Fashion Week, where he once again walked the catwalk for some of the world’s most iconic brands, he went on to do a series of prestigious assignments in Brazil for top fashion brands.
Today, he is one of the busiest models at Ford Models. Ford Models is one of the most renowned modelling agencies in the world and being selected by such a prestigious agency is in its own right, a great achievement. The agency’s portfolio features the biggest brands in international fashion and Adam was one of the 20 young models selected to represent these brands at New York Fashion Week this year.
This year alone, the list of brands that Adam has modelled for includes the likes of Brunello Cucinelli, True Religion jeans, Dolce & Gabbana and Jockey, He is currently the face of the prestigious department store, Saks Fifth Avenue. He has also done other prestigious assignments for Nautica, Gant, Mossimo and Greg Lauren (the nephew of Ralph Lauren).
He also just finished a suit shoot for the prestigious men’s fashion magazine, Esquire. Last year when he was still a part time model he was featured in the December issue of Esquire which had George Clooney on the cover.
There is one more question that lingers in our minds: now that Adam is conquering the modelling world, will he pursue a career in Hollywood as well? With one Indie film already in production, the glamorous world of Hollywood and acting seem incredibly close. With his natural talent, dedication and fearless perseverance, the sky is the limit for Adam.
Adam Flamer-Caldera’s career first took off on the local catwalks of Colombo Fashion Week; he also made his mark as the face of Arugam Bay Beachwear. Adam is now in the country to participate in the CFW Resort Wear Show which is taking place from 1 to 4 October.
Despite his busy schedule, Adam is missing a few important assignments in New York so that he can come home and be part of Colombo Fashion Week once again. Colombo Fashion Week provides a platform for Sri Lankan fashion designers and models to showcase in an international arena, the show helped Adam kick start his modelling career and it is an initiative which he truly loves and supports whole-heartedly.
The HSBC Colombo Fashion Week Resort Show, now in its third year, premiers from the 1 to 4 October 2014 at Jetwing Blue and Jetwing Beach.
