The exhibition has a clear vision to further expand the fast-booming local industry sector and to bring some of the most reputed international manufacturers and suppliers through its exhibitions to Sri Lanka. The Textech International expo will be held along with concurrent exhibitions – 20th DyeChem Sri Lanka 2015 Int’l Expo and the 6th Colombo Int’l Yarn & Fabric Show from 12 to 14 March at SLECC The Textech, DyeChem and Yarn and Fabric are CEMS-Global’s international series of exhibitions which are held in the same name in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Indonesia with Dye+Chem and Yarn and Fabric Series being held in five countries in addition to the above countries i.e. India and Singapore. Sri Lanka recorded 9.8% growth yoy in apparel exports in 2014 but as new competitors such as Vietnam are showing rapid growth in the global market, it’s vital for Sri Lanka exporters to come up with an efficient game plan. Currently human resources play a very important part in Sri Lankan apparel industry and the decline of work force in garment industry has posed a significant threat. Seeking new technological opportunities to overcome the HR issue should be looked upon exporters, investors and all respective stake holders. The exhibition has assembled worldwide manufactures and distributors, exhibitors from over 10 countries, namely over 20 stalls from Sri Lanka and over 100 stalls from China and also India, Taiwan and Malaysia will be present. This would give an opportunity for a B2B platform and create a unique one-stop-shop for the entire textile and apparel industry of Sri Lanka. The textile and apparel industry of South Asia and South East Asia has been playing a vital role in the global apparel sector market .The potentiality of this sector and further expansion of exports have made the region a critical point for investors, Hence the exhibition will be a platform which displays the latest technology Sri Lanka can obtain to be up to date with the quality of the competitors in the world market to attract investors and business opportunities.
