Continuously setting the benchmark in the fashion industry, Hameedia, Sri Lanka’s leading menswear specialist recently hosted a Father’s Day celebration in support of the ‘My Friend’ project. The event took place at Excel World on Sunday 15 June and Hameedia’s loyal customers were invited to commemorate Father’s Day and share the afternoon with children from the project. During the event, children were entertained by activities at ‘Adventure Land’, a face-painting station, a combination of performances by magicians and clowns, as well as a musical guest performance by Diran Wijesinghe. On behalf of Hameedia, chief guests Graham Labroy, former national cricketer, Julian Bowling, former national swimmer and Hussain Sadique, Deputy Managing Director of Hameedia also gave the children gift packs containing school supplies. The Father’s Day event by Hameedia gave customers the opportunity to celebrate the role of a father and support the My Friend initiative which has funded thousands of less fortunate school children throughout Sri Lanka. The project provides children in need with basic requirements including school supplies, financial aid, educational materials and daily nourishment.
