The first-ever ‘Fashion Hawker Street’ consumer promotion got underway at the Race Course Shopping Precinct, Colombo over the weekend.
The two-day event held from 5-6 April was part of the on-going HSBC Fashion Festival that saw many customers patronising, in spite of the inclement weather.
The event brought together top fashion retailers onto one platform, displaying the latest collections in clothing and fashion accessories. Cardholders also got to enjoy special credit card offers along with fashion ideas as well as receive complimentary make-overs by Ramani Fernando Salons and Hameedia.
Partnering the fashion hawker street were, Arugambay, Hameedia, Ponds, United Colors of Benetton, Ramani Fernando Salons, The Parfumerie, Cotton Collection, LICC Jeans, Amante, Mondy, Vision Care, Abstract, Lift Designer Wear and Mobitel.
The event also came alive with live entertainment by Glory and BnS, followed by hourly fashion shows choreographed by Brian Kerkoven which displayed the latest trends in fashion and accessories.
Day one showcased collections by Arugambay, Amante, Hameedia, Lift Designer Wear and LICC Jeans, while day saw collections by Abstract, Cotton Collection, Mondy, Vision Care and United Colors of Benetton, with hair and makeup courtesy of Ramani Fernando Salons, on both days.

Continuing its final week, the HSBC fashion festival is bringing bring out the latest fashion trends for women in casual/formal wear from 7-12 April at Abstract, Aashkii, Amante, Brands Warehouse, Bella Vita, Cotton Collection, Crocodile, Lift Designer Wear, Midnightdivas, MONDY,TFO and United Colors of Benetton, offering a 20% saving, throughout the entire week.
