MAS Active, part of the award-winning MAS Group, is entering the global spotlight this year as it presents a new ideal for travel style by bringing together the company’s cutting-edge technology in fashion construction, textile printing and bonding. This advanced collection will be part of Sri Lanka Design Festival’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Runways and present a season-less travel style that fashion consumers all over the world can buy into.
This special collection will integrate sportswear detailing with trans-seasonal silhouettes and bold psychotropic prints that brings out an interesting play between natural and manmade styles, where lush painterly botanicals take on a heightened, almost synthetic form. With MAS Active’s expertise on speciality fabrics, this collection will incorporate performance woven and thermal knits which provide warmth without weight, making it ideal for travel.
However, the most important feature that makes the collection will be its outstanding fashion constructional excellence which will be brought forward through MAS Active’s ultra-modern bonding technology. This collection that mixes in the idea of modern travel inspired fusion of human technology with nature with the help of superior fashion construction will showcase how Sri Lankan apparel makers are a class of their own when it comes to design, material and product innovation as well as fashion manufacturing.
MAS Holdings is easily one of Sri Lanka’s most respected business entities that provide employment, new opportunities and empowerment to over 50,000 people and has 38 world-class apparel facilities in 10 countries. With over 25 years of tradition in producing intimate apparel, sportswear, performance wear and swimwear for international brands, MAS’ products and services are enhanced design, innovation and manufacturing excellence.
In the past five years MAS has started transforming their business to broaden its services through new roles such as providing IT solutions to the global apparel and footwear industry and entering into the retail market with Sri Lanka’s first international lingerie brand, amanté. MAS is a perfect example of how a forward-thinking apparel business can diversify and transform through design, constant reinvention and innovation.
MAS Active’s take on travel style will be presented on Sri Lanka Design Festival’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Runways on 5 November at the SLECC, Colombo. The collection will set the tone for the kind of travel style that Sri Lanka can present with the integration of apparel technology for design, detailing and fashion construction; the collection will be streamed live on the runways and present the new identity of Sri Lanka fashion as a destination for travel style.
Following the runways, Sri Lanka Design Festival will continue to work with MAS Active and the rest of the industry to leverage on the influential audience at the runways consisting of retailers, sourcing specialists, fashion thought leaders, regional manufacturers and media to push a commercially relevant travel fashion story from the country.
