Fine Furniture was set up in Colombo by the German structural engineer Martin Klement and his partner Niluka Klement. Identifying the shifts in lifestyles and demands of new property owners in Sri Lanka, Fine Furniture came to provide specialty solutions with cutting edge European design for interior spaces. Today, Fine Furniture occupies a niche in the local market while leading a new outlook for living spaces in Sri Lanka.
Fine Furniture co-Founder Martin Klement stated that it is a new way of thinking and living that the brand wishes to share through SLDF; “When we started Fine Furniture a few years ago, it was answering an obvious need for great kitchens, interior product and furniture that represents the new lifestyle of the modern Sri Lankan. And Sri Lanka responded to us exceptionally well because it is a market that values good quality and good design. At SLDF 2015, Fine Furniture is promoting this modern home culture where people invest on long-lasting, quality products with outstanding design, function and performance for their homes for a new way of living. Sri Lanka Design Festival is a good platform to present this to the relevant stakeholders, so this partnership is something that will contribute to an important move towards cutting-edge, design driven interiors in Sri Lanka.”
Fine Furniture prides itself in bringing down German design engineering excellence and the latest European designer interior product. Home to some of the most cutting edge European designer brands like Häcker Kitchens, Bosch, Welle Möbel, Koinor, Pacific Green, Miele and WMF, Fine Furniture promises to present a spectacular array of furniture, kitchens and total home solutions.
Sri Lanka Design Festival Founder Linda Speldewinde stated that this partnership signifies an important part of the festival that connects international design excellence to Sri Lanka; “While SLDF has a big role to play in highlighting local design, we also have a role to share the latest of international design with Sri Lanka. And, this is not any kind of design but the kind that resonates with our country, with our vision for sustainability and also contributes something unique to our audiences. This is exactly what Fine Furniture delivers as a leading interior product retailer in Sri Lanka and we’re honoured to have them partner us to present a cutting edge international design agenda at SLDF.”
