Gaetano Navarra revealed the magnificence of Milan opening the finale day of Colombo Fashion Week SS’17 season. The highly precious and sought after archival collection was showcased to a packed house leaving every guest amazed at the splendor of the creations which celebrated his 25 years at Milan Fashion Week. Every piece showed finery of his workmanship and left the guests spellbound.
Colombo Fashion Week invites at least five established and renowned international designers every season with the key objective of creating a knowledge sharing base between international and Sri Lankan designers. This creates interesting opportunities for Sri Lankan designers to be exposed to string international designers who have made an impact internationally.
“This was part of our plan right from the beginning as I saw that the Sri Lankan fashion industry was quite insulated, there was no structure to expose Sri Lankan fashion designers regularly to the work of important international designers. This is intentionally done for the betterment of Sri Lankan designers and in return this has been fruitful. Gaetano is one of the top designers at Milan Fashion Week for last so many years. It was a privilege to see him at CFW,” said Ajai V Singh, Founder and President of Colombo Fashion Week
Noble and rebel, with a strong legacy yet innovative, in homage to his name that not incidentally brings to mind one of the proudest reigns of Medieval Spain. Gaetano Navarra reflects just that as a creator of a concept of elegance and of a style attitude that are multi-faceted and original, rock-solid and yet full of poetry and enchantment. This leads to extraordinary results in a process for the offer of a full 360°-lifestyle, and incredibly engaging one.
The opening of the Day 4 finale day of CFW was Gaetano which began with a tribute film of his iconic collections shown over the years at Milan Fashion Week and the models that walked for him over the years, among others, were the iconic Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Helena Christiansen and Claudia Schiffer.
