Reuters: Simple outfits and designs ruled the ramp on second day of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour in Gurgaon city of India’s northern state of Haryana on Sunday (October 18).
Designer Rahul Mishra wooed the hearts of the audience with his collection that was inspired from the balance between nature and mankind and reflected well in his outfits.
The collection included midi dresses, a-line dresses, plain and printed front open tops, shirts paired with skinny jeans, jeggings and fish cut skirts. It also saw a wide variety of cotton and leather jackets and shrugs.
Apart from the western wear, the Mishra’s collection showcased Indian wear like saree (traditional drape) and salwar-suit for women and kurta-pyjama and sherwani for men.
Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia, who looked elegant in an embroidered long blazer with sheer black skirt, walked the ramp as showstopper for the show.
The 11th season of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour began on Saturday (October 17), where Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was the showstopper for designer Anju Modi.
The tour is yet to visit the remaining four cities - Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
“The tour is in the 11th year and it is probably one of the bigger tours in the country. It goes to five cities. The tour is always about consumers and it caters to them and provides some experience. We try to always showcase multitude of talent on the platform,” said assistant vice president of Pernod Ricard India, Raja Banerji.
Pernod Ricard India is the parent company of Blenders Pride.
The show began with Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap talking about success and failure in his life. He mentioned the downfalls that he faced during his journey to become a filmmaker.
The second day also saw the collections from duo designers Rahul Khanna and Rohit Gandhi and David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore.
Designers Neeta Lulla, Masaba, Little Shilpa, J.J Valaya and Pankaj and Nidhi will also show their outfits at the fashion show.
