Sri Lanka’s first-ever exclusive Wall Paper and 3D Wall Tiles company recently unveiled 10 new collections from global wallpaper companies including Texdecor France, Grandeco Belgium, Rasch Germany and BN Netherlands bringing their product offering to the largest range available in Sri Lanka at over 12,000 designs. The new ranges include wallpaper with metallic sheens, floral and geometric prints, textures and faux finishes in line with global trends.

The advantage of metallic wallpaper is that it can be used to open up a small room and make it appear brighter. Metallic details can also add a contemporary touch to traditional patterns making your traditional spaces appear current and fresh. Sri Lankan consumers are becoming bolder in their interior design choices and contemporary wood grain, timber wood panelling, stone and brick effects are increasingly popular choices. Warm gold, brass, and copper tones as well as violet are all trendy colours for 2015.

Wall Art Ltd. Managing Director Kishani Weerasekera said, “We introduced the concept of wallpaper to the interior design landscape in Sri Lanka back in 2012. Over the span of four years, wallpaper has become a mainstream product adopted by many architects, interior design companies, corporates and households around the country. Wall Art represents some of the most reputed and trusted global wallpaper brands and we believe in frequently updating our offerings so that the Sri Lankan consumer can have the best of what’s available. We focus on importing the best quality, value for money products that last over 10 years.”

Wall Art has completed a large number of projects in Colombo as well as around the country for hotels, restaurants, offices, commercial spaces and residencies for businesses and individuals. They are also the only wallpaper company who has a team of skilled full time installers trained overseas who are capable of wallpapering a room in a few hours. Furthermore all adhesives are imported from Europe to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.

Wallpaper can be one of the most dramatic and instant ways of transforming a home, business or office. The fact that most wallpaper is washable – a little known fact in countries where wallpaper is not used widely – is another factor for the increasing trend towards wallpaper use in Sri Lanka.

Some of the key benefits of using wall paper include easy installation in a matter of hours, less maintenance as painted surfaces usually require repainting every two to three years, longer lifespan of over 10 years, washability, no colour fading, covers imperfections such as hairline cracks on walls, improves the value of your house, apartment or office and non-woven wallpaper is easily strippable and leaves no residue when removed.
