The Business School of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) conferred Master’s Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas on a total of 111 graduates, at the 2015 Business School Convocation held 16 December.
A total of 64 students successfully completed the Master of Business Administration (MBA), while one student jointly completed both the Master of Project Management (MPM) and the Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and 46 students were awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Finance.
The convocation was held under the patronage of Director/ Chief Executive officer of the National Development Bank, Rajendra Theagarajah, who was the chief guest, while Executive Director, USQ International and Development, Dr. Talal Yusaf of the University of Southern Queensland, Australia was the guest of honour.
Whilst congratulating the Business School graduates, the President, CA Sri Lanka, Arjuna Herath reminded them that the journey to be better never ends, even though they have achieved a new landmark in their professional journey.
“As the world continues to evolve, we as professionals have an important obligation to keep up with the changing local and global trends if we are to achieve success. Hence, both academic and professional education are vital elements if we are to achieve such success. Thus the importance you have placed on continuous education for the further enhancement of your professional career will be a value proposition that will reap benefits for you and people with whom you work,” he said.
Herath noted that the CA Sri Lanka Business School has been a pioneer of many unique initiatives for the benefit of the country’s professional community, apart from offering various local and foreign qualifications for the enhanced development of our professionals.
“The Business School has shared a very strong relationship with the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) by offering its globally recognised MBA programs for the benefit of our professional community in Sri Lanka. There is no doubt that this is one of the most sought after foreign Master’s programs in the country, and the Postgraduate Diploma is also one of the Business School’s benchmark qualifications, which has been in existence for several decades,” he added.
CA Sri Lanka Business School Chairman Sujeewa Rajapakse emphasised that hard work is an essential pillar in the journey to be successful. “As a graduate of the CA Sri Lanka Business School, you also join an elite group of highly qualified professionals, apart from taking on your new role as the brand ambassadors of our prestigious Institute, who aspire to add value to the profession and the organisation you serve in,” he added.
Rajapakse said that the CA Sri Lanka Business School has made vast strides, and is today among the most recognised Business Schools in the country.
