Plaque exchanges between Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Chairman Dammika Ranatunga and Deputy (Traffic) Manager from the Chittagong Ports Authority of Bangladesh Md. Mashiur Rahman Beg
A special delegation which included the Deputy (Traffic) Manager from the Chittagong Ports Authority of Bangladesh Md. Mashiur Rahman Beg visited the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) on 3 April.
The delegation also included officials from Bangladesh’s Ministry of Shipping.
During the visit the delegation held talks with SLPA Chairman Dammika Ranatunga to discuss matters pertaining to mutual goodwill and maritime exchanges between the two ports. Following the discussions a special plaque exchange took place between Ranatunga and Beg to mark the delegation’s visit to the Port of Colombo.

The Bangladeshi delegation also made a special observation tour of the Colombo Port premises. The tour included a visit to the breakwater, the new pilot station, the Jaya Container Terminal and the Mahapola Port and Maritime Academy.
The senior management of SLPA, including Managing Director H.D.A.S. Premachandra, Additional Managing Director J.K.P. Kurukulasooriya, Executive Director Sanjaya Wijeratne, Harbour Master Capt. Athula Hewawitharana and Marketing and Business Development and Communication and Public Relations Chief Manager Upul Jayatissa were also present to receive the delegation.
