113th birth anniversary of late N.U. Jayawardena commemorated

The 113th birth anniversary of Senator, Financier and the first Sri Lankan Governor of the Central Bank, the late Deshamanya N.U. Jayawardena was commemorated last week in a simple manner, taking into consideration the COVID situation. 

Ceremonies were held both at MMBL-Pathfinder headquarters at Riverpoint Peliyagoda and near Jayawardena’s statue, located opposite his residence at Cambridge Place.  MMBL-Pathfinder Group Director/CEO K. Balasunderam placed flowers at Jayawardena’s statue at Cambridge Place and Director of Administration and Security Nandana Dewage placed garlands upon the bust of late N.U. Jayawardena at the MMBL-Pathfinder headquarters at Riverpoint.
