13th South Asian Management Forum kicks off in Colombo today

The Institute of Certified Professional Managers (CPM), a member of the Association of Management Development Institutions of South Asia (AMDISA), will host the 13th South Asian Management Forum at the Taj Samudra on 26 and 27 March.
The Association of Management Development Institutions consists of management institutions in the South Asian Region and the Forum will be represented by members from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Afghanistan.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Management and Sustainability – South Asian Perspective’.
The conference will be inaugurated on 26 March by Chief Guest Minister of Public Administration, Buddha Sasana and Democratic Governance Karu Jayasuriya. The keynote speaker will be International Finance Corporation (IFC) Country Director Adam Sack, who will speak on ‘Management and Sustainability – Global Dimensions’.
AMDISA President Dr. Ashok Joshi will address the inaugural session together with CPM President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, who is also the Vice President of AMDISA. There will also be a memorial lecture for the Founder of AMDISA Dr. Dharni Sinha delivered by ICFAI University Vice Chancellor Prof. Y.K. Bhushan at the inaugural session.
There will be eminent speakers from the region who will address the technical sessions on both days. There will be five technical sessions and two concurrent sessions. The technical sessions will have 12 papers presented and a panel discussion representing all member countries. The concurrent sessions will have 18 papers presented by academics from the member countries.
AMDISA is the only association which networks management development institutions across the South Asian nations, through exchange of information, conducting regional conferences and providing a forum for academics and business leaders.
The association interfaces business schools with leaders interested in management development; promotes professional development of management faculty; provides institution-building assistance to business schools and corporate management development centres in the region.
AMDISA organises institution-building workshops for heads of institutions, faculty workshops on frontier areas of management and inter-institutional cooperative research on contemporary managerial issues in South Asia.
