Petroleum Minister of Sri Lanka Susil Premajayantha has directed Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) officials to convert 17 fuel storage facilities into fuel stations.

The decision to upgrade the storage facilities into fuel stations had been made following requests made by 30 owners of storage facilities. The CPC has chosen 17 facilities out of them to be upgraded to fuel stations.

The storage facilities could store diesel and kerosene.

The CPC Marketing Division is currently engaged in introducing the facility of storing petrol and other necessities required to convert the 17 facilities into a fuel station. The new fuel stations would be set up in the Eastern, North Central, North Western, Central and Southern Provinces.
