The 20th Congress of International Association for Hydro Environment Engineering Research – Asia Pacific Division will be held at Galadari Hotel Colombo from 29 to 31 August.
The theme of the Congress is ‘Water in the past, water in the present and water in the future’. It is the first time this Congress is being held in Sri Lanka.
It is expected to have over 250 delegates from 35 countries.
The Congress will have nine keynote presentations to enrich the congress together with six parallel sessions consisting of nearly 250 presentations which will lead to discussion and enhancement of cutting edge scientific research and applications the world has to offer water and environment engineering research.
The Congress was preceded by the world council meeting held at the same venue on 27 and 28 August. The Congress will also consist of a memorable welcome reception at the Galadari Hotel with traditional Sri Lankan fan fare as well as banquet on the beach at the Mt. Lavinia Hotel.
The Congress, while being a forum for intellectual and scientific discourse in the field of Water Engineering Research, is also a forum to build international ties with scientist, engineers, academics and policy makers in this area.
The Congress is supported by the Open University of Sri Lanka, the University of Moratuwa, Peradeniya University and the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka.
