3M Sri Lanka conferred AmCham Patron Membership Award

3M Sri Lanka  Ltd., recently received the prestigious AmCham Patron Membership Award at the CEO’s Breakfast Forum, ‘Marketing Led Growth and Innovation’ organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Colombo Region.



The certificate was presented by American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka President Vijaya Ratnatyake to 3M India and 3M Sri Lanka Managing Director Ajay Nanavati who is on a short visit to Sri Lanka.

Nanavati, a seasoned professional took over as Managing Director of 3M India and 3M Lanka in October 2008. He joined 3M India in 1988 as its first Indian employee and went on to spend the next five years building the India operations. Ajay who has worked across various roles in 3M had led the acquisition and integration of a US based company to 3M in his assignment with the 3M headquarters in Minnesota.

With $25 billion in sales, 3M employs 79,000 people worldwide and has operations in more than 60 countries.

The local subsidiary began operations in 1994. All of 3M’s core technologies have been introduced to Sri Lanka and at present the company has 23 business partners through whom it market its product island wide.

3M’s power brands in Sri Lanka include Littmann, Scotchgard, Scotchprint, Thinsulate, 3M ESPE, Scotch Brite, Post-it, Vikuiti and much more.
