6th Annual Rubber Conference opens in Sri Lanka on tomorrow

The 6th Annual Rubber Conference of the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) will open on Tuesday, 8 October in Sri Lanka under the patronage of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
The annual event organised by the Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Plantation Industries will be held from 08 to 13 October at Galadari Hotel in Colombo.
Along with the Annual Rubber Conference, the General Assembly and the committee meetings of the ANRPC will also be held in Sri Lanka from 8 to 10 October.
Around 200 private and public sector representatives from Sri Lanka will participate at this annual conference.
The conference with the theme ‘Sustainable NR Economy: Where Do We Stand?’, will provide an international meeting point and an ideal platform for meaningful interactions and networking among rubber industry players, policy makers, researchers, and commodity analysts across countries, organisers say.
The conference will include presentations on trends in global Natural Rubber demand, the outlook for physical rubber trading in China and the outlook for the Natural Rubber future markets.
The ANRPC, an inter-governmental organisation comprises of 11 countries – Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. These 11 countries account for about 92% of the global production of natural rubber.
