All-time record price for Pedro Estate in inaugural online tea auction

In the backdrop of the historical first online tea auction in Sri Lanka, Pedro Estate, situated in the cool climes of Nuwara Eliya, which markets their produce under the “Lovers Leap” and “Mahagastotte” selling marks, created history  by establishing an all-time record price of Rs. 1350 for a Lovers Leap BOP invoice, breaking their own previous record. Renowned for manufacturing exquisite flavoursome teas, all invoices of Lovers Leap on offer were well sought-after by the participating buyers. This invoice was purchased following aggressive bidding by St. Clair Teas, a leading buyer at the weekly auctions. Pedro Estate comes under the purview of Kelani Valley Plantations PLC, which is a part of the Hayleys Group. The sale was conducted by broker John Keells PLC.
