St. James, the selling mark of Dickwella Estate, established an all-time record price of Rs. 1,750 on a BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) grade in the Uva Medium Grown category improving its own record established exactly a week ago within the ongoing Uva Quality Season, at the online tea auction held on 18 August. This line of tea was purchased by M/s. Ceylon Tea Marketing Ltd.

St. James also recorded an equal all-time record price of Rs. 1,350 for the BOPF (Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings) Grade in the corresponding sale where this line of tea was purchased by M/s. Tea Link Colombo Ltd.

These teas were manufactured at Dickwella Estate which is ISO 22000 and Rainforest Alliance certified. Dickwella Estate is managed by Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC under Regional Manager Chaminda Perera alongside veteran Factory Head A.M. Shajahan who were instrumental in the achievement of this feat. These record-breaking teas were marketed by M/s. Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

Dickwella Estate is nestled in the hills of Uva adjacent to the Malwatte Valley at 3,900 feet (1,200 m) above mean sea level in the agro climatic region of Badulla District, with a revenue extent of 299.25 hectares in the scenic landscape of the estate.

When the Uva flavoury season commences towards the end of July every year, the tea undergoes ideal conditions with the climatic changes and the leaf is carefully hand-picked, and manufactured to produce the excellent high quality flavoury teas at Dickwella Factory.
