The Australian Migration and Education Exhibition organised by Sanji Caldera Associates will be held at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo, on 8 October.

Sanji Caldera Associates Managing Director Sanji A. Caldera, a veteran migration consultant, will participate at the event and Sri Lankans can resolve their migration related problems by meeting with him.

The exhibition explores the current state and progress of Australia’s immigration policies. The Australian government has announced a permanent immigration program for 2023-24 with 190,000 places and Sri Lankans interested in Australian immigration can attend this exhibition free of charge.

As a nation that welcomes foreigners from all walks of life with respect and love, Australia has introduced several approaches to accepting immigrants. The entry routes are: Skilled Migration Program, Job Demand based Migration Program, Opportunity based Migration Program in Regional areas, Entrepreneurship and Innovation based Migration Program and Pathways to Citizenship.

Australia’s Skilled Migration Program is a pivotal pathway for migrants with in-demand skills to gain permanent residency. Operating on a points-based system, applicants are evaluated based on factors including age, English proficiency, work experience, and education. This meticulous selection process ensures that individuals with valuable skills take precedence, effectively addressing the country’s employment needs.

Australia’s government consistently updates lists of high-demand occupations, providing essential guidance for the immigration process, identifying skills crucial across various industries. In recent years, fields such as healthcare, information technology, engineering, and construction witnessed a growing demand for skilled professionals. This burgeoning demand has translated into promising opportunities for migrants possessing expertise in these domains. To stimulate development in regional areas, Australia has instituted special migration initiatives such as the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme and the Skilled Regional Visa. These programs offer migrants opportunities to reside and work in regional parts of the country, bolstering local economies and fostering stronger communities.

Australia extends a warm welcome to migrants with entrepreneurial aspirations through the Business Innovation and Investment Program. This program is meticulously designed to attract business owners, investors, and innovators capable of making substantial contributions to the country’s economy.

Australia recognises the enduring commitment and contributions made by migrants to the nation’s progress. Accordingly, it provides pathways to citizenship, enabling eligible migrants to become Australian citizens. Citizenship confers full participation in Australian society, including the right to vote, access to government services, and the ability to reunite with family members.
