Autodrome PLC has announced the appointment of Jitendra Daulagala and Chiranthi Cooray as Independent Non-Executive Directors to its Board with effect from 31 December 2024.
Daulagala began his career as an Accounts Trainee at Warner Lambert Lanka Ltd., before moving on to roles such as Accountant at the Industrial Brush division of Eastern Merchants PLC and Credit Officer at Commercial Leasing PLC.
He currently serves as the Managing Director and Group Financial Director of iOM Lanka Ltd., (formerly EDS).
Daulagala is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK) and holds a Master’s in Management Studies from the University of Essex (UK). He was an active member of the Executive Council of the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS), serving as its Treasurer from 2012 to 2013.
Chiranthi Cooray, FCMA, CGMA, CPA, MBA (UK), CIPM, is the Founder of Accedo Intel, a tech start-up working on financial and climate risk advisory and research for the MSME sector.
She has served as Director of HR and Organisation Transformation at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) and Deputy General Manager – Sustainability and Corporate Communications of Hatton National Bank PLC. Since joining HNB in 2010, she has held C-level positions such as Chief HR Officer and Chief Transformation Officer as a senior member of the bank’s corporate management team.
She serves on the Boards of Advocata, a liberal policy think tank, and the Ceyline Group of Companies. She is also a Board Trustee of the SJDS Foundation for Communication Impaired Children. Cooray was selected from a global talent pool to attend a fully funded scholarship awarded by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Germany for global policy leaders’ think tanks, in the Freedom Academy, Cologne Germany, in August 2024. She was awarded the HR Leadership Award for Global HR Excellence organised by the World HR Congress in February 2015. She has also been awarded the Gold category at the Women for Governance Professional and Career Women Awards 2014/2015 by Women in Management for her exceptional contribution and achievements in the field of Human Resources.
In 2017, Cooray served as the Chairwoman of the National Task Force to recommend a strategic road map to increase female labour force participation in Sri Lanka for the National HR Development Council of Sri Lanka.
Cooray currently holds various leadership positions. She has served as Council Member of the Association of Professional Bankers, Sri Lanka, Board Member of the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Sri Lanka, and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) Tech and Innovation Committee.
Additionally, she holds Committee Member positions in various esteemed organisations, including the SLID Education and Technical Working Committee, International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka Insurance Committee, The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Steering Committee on People Development, The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chamber Academia Round Table (CART), and The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG).
She has completed the Board Leadership Training and Women on Boards training programs conducted by the SLID. She brings expertise in Strategy, Policy and Governance, HR, ESG, Sustainability, and Organisation Transformation.
