Avissawella Tea Factory establishes new record price for BOP1 grade

Avissawella Tea Factory renowned for all-time record prices for ‘Sithaka’ selling mark, established a new all-time record price for a BOP1 grade at this week’s tea auctions held on 8/9 August. 

This BOP1 grade recorded a price of Rs. 4,500 and this tea was purchased by Regency Teas Ltd., a leading tea exporter in Sri Lanka.

Sithaka Tea Factory owned by Lalith Liyanage – Chairman of RTS Holdings Ltd., produces the finest quality low grown orthodox teas and has won many awards both internationally and locally for producing select best teas in Sri Lanka.  This remarkable achievement was made possible by the young and energetic team at the respective tea factory endeavouring to achieve new heights through effectively collaborating with the leadership of Liyanage.

This record-breaking line of tea was successfully marketed and sold by Mercantile Produce Brokers Ltd.
