Awareness on ‘Implementation of Paperless Transactions & Digital Signature’

As part of the efforts towards a paperless environment in Sri Lanka Customs, UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) has developed a new functionality in ASYCUDA (Automated System for Customs Data) World system to digitally sign the Customs Declarations in the import and export processes. In the light of the new implantation, the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will hold an event titled ‘Implementation of Paperless Transactions & Digital Signature’ on 20 October at the Galle Face Hotel Colombo. 

This implementation is oriented to facilitate and speed up the import and export delay suppressing the CUSDEC (Customs Declaration) printouts and improving one of the main security features, which is the user authentication. 

The program will be moderated by John Wilson, (John Wilson Partners, Attorneys-at-Law and Notaries Public), a Director of the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, and will feature the following speakers: 

  • Chulananda Perera (Secretary – Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure)
  • Jayantha Fernando (Actg. Chairman, Sri Lanka CERT and Director/Legal Advisor – Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka)
  • Channa De Silva (General Manager/CEO – LankaClear Ltd.)
  • Dr. Tharaka Mahaulpath (Superintendent of Sri Lanka Customs)
