A BELA and Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH event will be held on 16 March at CinnamonLakeside Waterside from 6:30 p.m. onwards.

Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (MR) is the leading company in power engineering. Since the founding of the company in 1868, its activities have been run from Regensburg, Germany.

The Executive Board, the centre of global marketing and sales activities, research and development and highly-qualified jobs for various value creation levels, including large parts of production, are located in Regensburg. A unique global testing and innovation centre at the location also greatly contributes to the success of MR. Globally, it is represented by a service network of over 20 subsidiaries on all continents. Within modern network applications the demand of highly-sophisticated substation technology is tremendously rising. This affects not only the high voltage equipment – such as large power transformers, circuit breakers, bus bars, overhead lines, etc., but the protection, regulation, control and monitoring devices as well. Due to the increasing demand for electrical energy and due to the continuous availability of power the call for reliability becomes louder as well. MR’s core business is the regulation of power transformers. This is done above all with the aid of tap changers, which adapt the transmission ratio of the primary to secondary winding to changing load ratios and, together with additional, innovative products and services, ensures an interruption-free power supply. Today, over 50% of global electricity flows through MR’s products. As an innovative company with decades of experience in voltage regulation, MR is present in every area that deals with the flow of energy. The company works every day to make the global energy supply better and more secure with its solutions. This applies to the product solutions and to the extensive service offerings and the competencies in project business. MR does this together with their customers, the manufacturers of high-voltage devices and systems, utility providers and voltage-intensive large-scale industry. The number of unmanned substations and thus the request of automation of distribution grids are rising. Additionally the use of renewable energies creates new challenges through the decentralization of power plants. Power quality becomes more and more important and major factors such as constant voltage level, perfection of waveform or constant frequency do guarantee an uninterrupted availability of power. MR takes on the liability for the complete service life of their productions, no matter where in the world they operate.

MR is represented in Sri Lanka by BELA International Ltd. BELA is an independent organisation dedicated to providing infrastructure solutions in construction and energy industry.

BELA and MR have been in partnership since 1999. MR has been supplying On Loan Tap Changers (OLTC)and related electronic equipment to the majority of transformers that have been installed in Sri Lanka by CEB. Every two years, BELA and MR jointly host a felicitation event for their customers in Sri Lanka.
