The Ceylon Chamber’s annual discourse on the year’s outlook will be held at the Chamber Auditorium on 10 February, the organisation said in a statement yesterday.

Organised by the Chamber Academy, the event will focus on the macroeconomic outlook, trade prospects, and review of key sectors of the economy.

The newly appointed Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Deshamanya Professor W.D. Lakshman, will deliver the keynote address. He will then join a panel discussion comprising Asia Securities Chairman Dumith Fernando, Verite Research Director of Research Subhashini Abeysinghe, and Fitch Ratings Lanka Chief Executive and Country Head Maninda Wickramasinghe. Moderated by Ceylon Chamber Chief Economist Shiran Fernando, the panel will cover capital and financial markets, along with a focus on global and local trade developments, investment and reform outlook, and sectors like consumer durables.

The forum will also see the launch of the Outlook 2020 Report published by the Economic Intelligence Unit of the Chamber. The Chief Economist will provide a brief presentation of the report, which will be available for purchase at a discounted price, at the event.
