CIMA CXO Forum 2021 in Asia Pacific today

  • Event to focus on moving “towards a healthier, more equitable post-COVID-19 world "

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in Sri Lanka will be organising the Asia Pacific (APAC) CXO Forum on the theme of ‘Navigating the Tides of Uncertainty’ on 19 August at 5:30 p.m. (IST) as a virtual event. 

The COVID-19 crisis is affecting every facet of people’s lives in every corner of the world. The political, economic and social disruptions it has caused, is fundamentally changing the traditional context for decision-making. Leaders are bound to find themselves at a historic crossroads, managing short-term pressures against medium-and-long-term uncertainties.

However, the pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world to create a healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous future. 

The CIMA CXO forum is expected to draw a massive participation of C-Suite individuals including CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, CMOs and top professionals from the APAC region. 

The distinguished panel consists of international speakers Omar Khan, Founder, Senior Partner, EPL Global and Founder, Senior Partner, Sensei International and Venkkat Ramanan FCMA, CGMA, Asia Pacific Regional Vice President from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the unified voice of AICPA and CIMA; who are expected to discuss on some of the latest trends in leadership and education and will go on to deliberate on mental health and wellbeing in the context of the post COVID-19 recovery. 

Sri Lanka Tourism Chairperson Kimarli Fernando is expected to highlight the strategies for tourism and opportunities in a post-pandemic world. Brandix Group Finance Director Hasitha Premaratne FCMA, CGMA, and LSEG Technology Sri Lanka Co-Head Feroz Cader FCMA, CGMA will cover the financial, apparel and technology challenges and opportunities during the forum. The session will be moderated by investment banking professional and NDB Capital Holdings Ltd. Director/Chief Executive Officer Senaka Kakiriwaragodage FCMA, CGMA.

The panellists will deliberate the inconsistencies, inadequacies and contradictions of multiple systems ranging from health and financial to tourism and education are more exposed than ever amidst a global context of concern for lives and livelihoods.

Drawing from the vision and vast expertise of the leaders engaged across the forum’s communities, this forum and its outcomes will spearhead thought leadership across multiple sectors and will set dimensions to build a new social contract that honours the dignity of every human being. The forum will also seek solutions to promote more equitable outcomes, ensure that investments advance shared goals, such as equality and sustainability and harness the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to support health and social challenges. 

Organised by the Member Development and Stakeholder Relations Sub Committee of the CIMA Country Network Committee, the event was, guided by Manohara Tillakawardana FCMA, CGMA and Kamaya Perera, ACMA, CGMA, Co-Chairs of the Sub Committee.
